Lisa Burgess

Overview

Lisa Burgess is an artist whose goal is for the viewer to participate in her paintings, drawings, and sculpture and make it their own by adding their emotion, experiences, and expressions. Formally trained to draw with precise accuracy and paint with accurate coloration, Lisa realized that accuracy leaves no room for the viewer.

Lisa twist perspectives, changes light sources, alters foreground and background positions, and contradicts  nature so that the viewer can 'build the scene'. The brain naturally corrects what doesn't fit, and in the  process of pulling the pieces together, restoring perspectives, and adjusting hot colors- the art takes on  the viewers personality.
